Organizers of Shake the Lake have announced that they will not be presenting an event in 2026.

In a facebook post on the Shake the Lake page it states: “After careful consideration, we want to share that Shake the Lake will not be hosting an event in 2026. Large-scale festivals are expensive undertakings, and with rising costs across production, staffing, infrastructure, and logistics, it isn’t always feasible to produce the kind of high-quality experience that is desired. We have explored options through grants, the city, and multiple other sources. Unfortunately this is the outcome.”

They also stated that they encourage residents to continuing supporting events such as KBI and Lakeside Live.

Shake the Lake started in 2024 as a new entity taking over the August Long Weekend at the Whitecap Pavilion after Harbourfest discontinued in 2023.

Over the two years in operation Shake the Lake brought Petric, Coleman Hell, Default, Catie St. Germain, Checkered Past, Clark Copland, Five More Miles, Tim & The Glory Boys, FeFe Dobson and Shawn Desman.
