The Kenora Airport Authority is announcing direct, scheduled passenger service between Kenora (YQK) and Thunder Bay (YQT) beginning on January 15th, 2026 with Northstar Air.

The new route will enhance regional connectivity, strengthen economic links and provide residents, businesses and visitors with fast, reliable travel between the two hubs.

Chairman of the Kenora Airport Authority Ryan Reynard, stated in a news release, “This new partnership with North Star Air marks an exciting milestone for the Kenora Airport and our community.” He also states “A direct link to Thunder Bay, strengthens our regional transportation network and supports easier access to health services, commerce, business connectivity and general travel opportunities across Northern Ontario and beyond.”

President/COO of Northstar Air Jeff Stout says “Northstar Air is proud to partner with the Kenora Aurport Authority to expand passenger service in Northwestern Ontario. This new route reflects our commitment to helping communities stay connected and supporting economic growth across the region.”
