Around 8pm on Sunday, Kenora OPP responded to a collision in Clearwater Bay involving a Snow plow and a Semi Truck.

The Semi Truck attempted to pass the snowplow on the right side, hitting the wing of the plow and causing a collision. No serious injuries were reported and the snowplow was deemed inoperable. a 56 year old driver of the semi truck was charged with Careless Driving.

The Kenora OPP is reminding motorists that snow plow operators work long hours in hazardous winter conditions, and attempting to pass a working plow is extremely dangerous, especially during periods of reduced visibility and slippery road conditions. Passing a snow plow in certain conditions is also prohibited under the Highway Traffic Act. Drivers are urged to slow down, increase following distance, use caution in winter weather, and allow snow plow operators the space they need to keep Ontario roads safe.
