The Salvation Army Kenora has announced the thrift store will shutdown on March 20th, 2026.
The decision comes after careful consideration and review of the organization’s services and resource allocation.
Last day for donations is on March 2nd, 2026. Emergency clothing will continue to be available at the Salvation Army office on Matheson. St when the thrift store closes.
The Salvation Army is still committed to Kenora and with closing the thrift store, they will shift their focus to meeting the food insecurity needs of the area with the Food Bank and other programs.
Community Ministries Director, Stuart Walter states that “We are deeply grateful to the many supporters, volunteers and dedicated staff who have been part of our journey in Kenora.” He goes on to say “the Salvation Army has proudly serviced the community by offering quality used clothing and household items at affordable prices for local families and individuals to support sustainable shopping practices.”
Programs and services will stay in place in the Kenora area including the Food bank. The closure of the store will allow a greater focus on that due to ongoing economic challenges.
More details to come.
