Today is World Radio Day.
This day is always a great reminder that Radio is and will always be a part of communities across our great nation. In times of need, celebration and information, you can always rely on radio and now in our digital age, you can listen to it anywhere.
101.3 The Gap exists on Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation to better communicate with it’s band members and to showcase the cultures and traditions of the nation, but with how far signals go, this station organically is bringing first nation communities and the citizens of Kenora closer together… That’s the power of radio..
From power and internet outages to weather warnings, natural disasters, search efforts, sharing news, events and celebrations, radio is always a way to stay informed or to distract the mind and escape. From the turn of a knob or dial, you can be transformed into a whole new world.
Wauzhushk Onigum Nation is committed to Radio, and informing and entertaining it’s band members, as well as tourists, Kenora and surrounding area residents and businesses and organizations… This is a chance for all of us to come together and unite Treaty #3 Territory.
Happy World Radio Day! Give us a listen at 101.3 FM on your radio dial in the Kenora area or listen live at www.1013thegap.ca. You can also listen to us on the TuneIn Radio App or ask your smart speaker to play 101.3 The Gap.
