An accident on Sunday, March 1st involving a commercial motorized vehicle caused cattle to break free from their trailer on HWY 17 in the area of Inglis Lake Road.

The OPP say in a statement that “There is a plan in place to safely remove the remaining cattle from the area. In the interest of public safety and the safety of the removal team, Kenora OPP is asking the public to refrain from hunting.”

Kenora OPP say that hunting the cattle may result in charges under the Trespass to Property Act as well as Criminal Code firearm charges and theft.

Please stay alert when travelling in the area as cows may be close to the highway and local area roads. If you see any, call 1-888-310-1122.

There was no word on any injuries caused by the collision.
