UPDATE: The Town of Atitkokan is now free from a shelter in place order that started Wednesday Night.
Rainy River OPP says that “Police searched for two possible suspects believed armed and dangerous. Both suspects have now been located by police and the threat to public safety is no longer considered active.”
OPP say “On Wednesday, March 4th, shortly after 7:00pm Eastern, members of the Rainy River District OPP responded to reports of gunshots in the Don Park area of Atitkokan. Upon police arrival, one person was located deceased.”
Schools, Stores, Offices and meeting places were closed on Thursday in accordance to the order.
