Treaty Three Police Service have made several arrests in and around Treaty 3 Communities following a months-long drug trafficking investigation.
T3PS says that “The Street Crime Unit with Treaty #3 initiated an investigation in late 2025 into suspected drug activity in Naotkamegwanning First Nation, Northwest Angle #33 and Northwest Angle #37. The investigation focused on preventing the flow of illicit substances into Treaty #3 Communities according to T3PS.
An initial arrest was made in February of 2026 resulting in a 43-year-old male from Onigaming First Nation charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Officers seized approximately one ounce of cocaine. On April 10th, an additional 7 individuals, two from Naotkamegwanning First Nation and five from Kenora were charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking.
This investigation reflects the continued efforts of the T3PS Street Crime Unit, working in collaboration with policing partners, including the Ontario Provincial Police: Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Kenora Community Street Crime Unit and Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau, to disrupt drug trafficking networks and prevent illicit substances from entering Treaty #3 communities.
