Election Day took place on April 18th, 2026 for Niisachewan First Nation (Dalles)
Elijah Jameson was voted in as new Chief after earning 111 votes, in second place was Reno Cameron with 57 votes and in third Mary Henry with 18 votes.
For council Martina Strong was voted in with 118 votes, followed by Leanne Cobiness with 95 votes, Fabian Blackhawk was voted in with 69 votes, and Joshua Sagutch with 68 votes.
Ruby Gray, Gabriel Henry, Josh Henry, Larry Kabestra Jr, Ted Perrault, Marvin Roulette and Vanessa Lac Seul were also on the ballot but failed to get into council.
This election marks a new era for Niisachewan First Nation after the death of then Chief Lorraine Cobiness back in November of 2025.
