Demolition started Tuesday on the former St. Mary’s Residental School Building/Band Office that was attached to Golden Eagle Bingo Hall. The main floor of the building was the first to be demolished and crews stated that they would work on the basement level of the building later this week.
Crews may have the Casino Road/Backroad from the band office to the Front Gate down to one lane with flaggers. Please reduce your speed in the area as crews are working in the area. The work is expected to be finished this week.
Earlier in the year, the Katagooging Survivors group had a ceremony to honour the children who attended the school.
