The Lake of the Woods District Hospital has experienced a flood which has impacted several departments.

“First and foremost, thanks to the swift and coordinated response of our incredible LWDH team, all patients remained safe and continued to receive excellent care,” said Cheryl O’Flaherty, President & CEO. “Their quick actions helped contain the situation, minimize damage, and support patient safety while we plan next steps for recovery.”

The flood happened in the early hours of May 6th.

The Emergency Department has been affected but remains open, if you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or visit the ER.

All scheduled surgeries have been cancelled for the remainder of the week, if you had a scheduled surgery, you will be contacted by the hospital directly.

Telemedicine has been impacted, and patients affected will receive contact.

Impact is currently being assessed in General Surgery, Outpatient Pyschiatry and Visiting Specialist Clinics.
