The Lake of the Woods District Hospital is still evaluating all areas of the hospital after a flood occurred in the early hours of May 6th.

Approx. 25% of the physical hospital space has been temporarily damaged, including a number of bed spaces. The hospital was already experiencing the pressures of operating within an aging facility that has struggled to meet the demands of a growing community.” The Hospital released in a statement “This current situation has further intensified those capacity challenges.”

The Hospital will update with restoration details later this week.

If you had a scheduled surgery or appointment at the hospital and it was postponed or cancelled, you should’ve been contacted by the hospital. Operating rooms are unavailable and surgeries are cancelled for May.

the Hospital has said in a statement “At this time, there are no additional changes to other services. Patients should continue to attend their scheduled appointments unless they have been contacted directly by the specific department.”
