Wastewater management crews are reminding band members living on Wauzhushk Onigum nation not to flush non-compostable items down your drains or toilets as it can compromise the wastewater system and injure drainage pipes.
Example of items that cannot go down the drain include:
- Hats
- Shirts and Clothing
- Ropes
- Swifter Rags
Please throw these items away in the garbage and don’t put anything down your drains that aren’t compostable, or if the item says “flushable” consider throwing away in your garbage to minimize the traffic in drains!
