The 12th annual Women’s Walleye Tournament took place last weekend on June 12th.
This all-women angler tournament is in honour of Lynda Richardson and was built to create opportunities for women at every level. This tournament is done with length of fish instead of weight.
Champions of the “With Driver” Division were Jenna Book of Kenora and Natalie Tack of Bruxelles, Manitoba with 78.75″ of fish.
Champions of the “Without driver” division were Rebecca Bowen of Kenora, and Breanna Picyk of Keewatin with 67″ of fish.
Many Wauzhushk Onigum Nation Anglers took part in the tournament.
Without Driver Division Teams:
- Johna Joe Kakeway and Stacy Cameron placed 4th with 65.5″ of fish
- Pat Fox and Vanessa Skead placed 7th with 65″ of fish
- Mandy Chicago and Larissa Hrabec placed 12th with 62.75″ of fish
- Danielle and Emma Raye Kakeway placed 18th with 46.25″ of fish
With Driver Division Teams:
- Callie Skead and Emily Lachinette placed 9th with 64.5″ of fish
- Brianna Skead and Allesen Skead placed 14th with 63.75″ of fish
- Penny Skead and Wendy Kuczma placed 17th with 63″ of fish
- Lydia Tom and Wendy Darling placed 26th with 31″ of fish
