The province announced on Tuesday that an inquest will be held into the death of Kaylee Martha Dallas Crowchild.
Crowchild who was 29 years old at the time, passed on September 20th, 2022, at the Lake of the Woods Hospital after an incident at the Kenora Jail. This inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act and will examine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Crowchild was a member of Tsuut’ina Nation, a dene community in Southern Alberta.
