Flood Claim Payments for Wauzhushk Onigum Nation residents nearing the final steps of process.
On September 30th (T+R), Chief and Council received confirmation that the province of Ontario has signed the Flood Claims Settlement agreement through the Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation.
The agreement will now go to the Federal Ministers for the appropriate signatures. This step of the process could take 2-4 weeks or longer and then the payments itself could take up to 45 days to populate into bank accounts.
