@ THE LAKE OF THE WOODS MUSEUM & DOUGLAS FAMILY ART CENTRE
People of the Watershed: Photographs by John Macfie features a selection of artifacts and 120 colour photographs taken from the 1940s through the 1960s, featuring Indigenous people from communities in Treaties 3, 5, and 9 during a period of rapid transition. This exhibition is spread across both facilities.
@ THE DOUGLAS FAMILY ART CENTRE:
Itinerant Sketches: C. Nickerson is an exhibition of oil landscape paintings of Kenora, from a visit to our region in fall of 2024. The show revolves around the observations she made, a snapshot from her point of view. Walking, driving, canoeing and boating Nickerson turned her eyes to the landscape, and observed the layered human footprint through architecture, infrastructure, landmarks, and lifestyles.
*Admission is being offered for FREE thanks to Triple PLAY. Triple PLAY is a non-profit that supports low-income families in Kenora in accessing Positive Leisure Activities for Youth (PLAY). Funds donated to Triple PLAY support registration fees, equipment, and transportation costs to ensure all children have an equal opportunity to participate in leisure activities.
