Kenora OPP say that they responded to a single Motorized Snow Vehicle collision on Friday around 6:30pm on Lake of the Woods. A 60-year-old male had hit an ice ridge on Lake of the Woods in the Clearwater Bay area while operating the MSV.
OPP and EMS responded and he was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg with serious injuries and is in stable condition.
The Kenora OPP wish to remind members of the public to drive according to conditions and operator skill levels, and to be cognizant of ever-changing conditions on the ice roads as it can rapidly change during the day.
Always let someone know where you plan on travelling and when you expect to return should disaster strike these two things will greatly increase the ability of First Responders to arrive and facilitate care.
